What personal information we collect and why
Session requests
When you use the Request a Session form, we collect your name, phone number, email address (optional), the type of consultation and service you select, your preferred date and time, and any message you provide.
We use this information to contact you, confirm your session, arrange your consultation, and respond to your questions.
Please do not include detailed medical information in the form. You can discuss this information with the doctor during your consultation.
Phone, WhatsApp and email
If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp, or email, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, and message.
We use this information to respond to you and arrange your consultation or care. WhatsApp and your email provider process your messages according to their own privacy policies.
Website use
To help prevent abuse of the session request form, we briefly store a hashed version of your IP address for about 30 seconds. It is not linked to your name.
Health information
Health information is sensitive personal data. We collect it only when necessary to provide care, keep it confidential, and do not use it for advertising.
Health information published on this website is for general information only and is not a substitute for a medical consultation.
In an emergency, do not use this website. Call your local emergency number or visit the nearest hospital.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS data). Visitors may be able to download images from the website and extract this location information.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies make it easier to leave another comment without entering your details again and last for one year.
Staff who log in to manage the website receive login cookies. These last for two days, or two weeks if Remember Me is selected. They are removed when the user logs out. These cookies do not apply to ordinary visitors.
Embedded content and third-party services
Google Fonts
Our website uses Google Fonts. When you visit a page that uses these fonts, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which may receive your IP address and browser information.
Google’s Privacy Policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Embedded content
Articles on this website may contain embedded content such as videos, images, or articles from other websites.
Embedded content works in the same way as if you had visited the other website directly. These websites may collect information about you, use cookies, include additional tracking technologies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, particularly if you have an account and are logged in.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data.
We share personal data only with people and services that are necessary to operate the practice and provide your care. These may include the doctor, authorised staff, email and website hosting providers, and the spam detection service used for comments.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the password reset email.
How long we retain your data
Session requests and related messages are kept for as long as necessary to arrange and follow up on your consultation and to meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations. After this period, they are deleted when no longer required.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of keeping them in a moderation queue.
If users can register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username. Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, request erasure, object to or restrict certain processing, and receive a copy of your personal data.
These rights may not apply to information we are required to retain for administrative, legal, security, or other lawful purposes.
To make a request, email [email protected].
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Some services we use, including email, website hosting, and Google Fonts, may process data on servers located outside Nigeria.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date shown at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.
